GOOD TO KNOW

Fleet and business legislation is constantly changing. Our Good To Know section keeps you up to date and shows how Jaguar innovation cuts costs and reduces environmental impact.

VED CHANGES

On April 1st, 2017, the DVLA implemented changes to how Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) is charged on all new vehicles registered on or after that date, based on the vehicle’s CO2 emissions. In the second and subsequent years, the VED will be calculated based on its list price. The duty on vehicles with list prices below £40,000 will be £140, and cars with a higher list price will be subject to an additional £310 charge over five years.

MOBILE PHONE USAGE

Using your mobile phone whilst driving is now considered a serious crime in the UK. Which is why the police and UK Government have introduced serious penalties for guilty parties. If you’re caught using your phone behind the wheel you’ll incur an immediate £200 fine and six penalty points on your license. Offend more than once and you could face a £1000 fine and a 6-month driving ban.
